Beaches in Marbella

Marbella is aptly named “Beautiful Sea”, that is Mar (for sea) and bella (for beautiful). It is blessed with 27 kilometers and have 24 different beaches in the municipality.

This is a nudist beach that is located in a protected zone that is dominated by the Dunes of Artola, hence the name. It has three chiringuitos or beach restaurants and a camp sire. You may also rent sailing gear. This beach is regularly maintained and is equipped with showers, waste bins and public toilets. It is 1,500 meters long and 25 meters wide. It is next to the port of Cabopino.

Guadalmina Beach
This beach is next to the Guadalmina urbanization, in San Pedro de Alcantara. It is near the historic Roman baths, which is an important archeological site that you should not miss. So you can mix beach pleasure with archeology and culture. The beach itself is a great place to indulge in a variety of water sports such as windsurfing, jet skiing, kayaking. There is also the Golf Guadalmina Hotel, two beach clubs and two beach bars. The beach is equipped with sun beds, first aid and lifeguards, watch towers, showers and public toilets and rubbish bins. It is 1,600 meters long and 30 meters wide.

Linda Vista Beach
This beach is near the town of San Pedro de Alcantara, next to the Linda Vista Urbanization. Nearby, you may also visit the paleo-Christian Basilica Vega del Mar. The beach is equipped with showers, public toilets, watch towers, life guards, first aid and rubbish bins. There are also two beach clubs and a beach bar. This beach is quite popular with tourists as it is a BlueFlag Beach. It is regularly maintained by the municipal cleaning service. This beach is 550 meters long and 40 meters wide.

San Pedro de Alcantara Beach
This beach is located in the urban center of San Pedro de Alcantara. Here, you can enjoy a wide variety of water sports such as jet skiing, pedalos, windsurfing. There are also six beach restaurants where you can lounge in their sun beds. You can also go to the beach club, which has a swimming pool, a paddle court and a children’s playing area. It is a Blue Flag beach and is 1 kilometer long and 35 meters wide. It is well maintained and equipped with watchtowers, life guards (in the summer season), first aid, showers, public toilets, and garbage bins.

Nueva Andalucia Beach
This beach is a Blue Flag beach characterized by find white sand. It is close to Puerto Banus and is a favorite of tourists. It is next to Nueva Andalucia and to Puerto Banus. There are four beach clubs with swimming schools. You may also eat in any of the six beach restaurants. It is 1,100 meters long and 30 meters wide.

Puerto Banus Beach
This beach is blessed with fine white sand and a good environment for a variety of water sports. You can enjoy sumptious seafood treats in any of its four beach restaurants and you may also relax in the pedestrian promenade that surrounds the beach. This Blue Flag beach is equipped with showers, toilets, watch towers, life guards, first aid equipment, and rubbish bins. It is 1 kilometer long and 50 meters wide. The beach is in Nueva Andalucia, east of the Puerto Banus.

Rio Verde Beach
This beach is located in the Rio Verde Urbanization, which is near the Rio Verde River. It is near the Villa Romana de Rio Verde, which showcases the ruins of a Roman Villa. The beach has a four-star hotel (the Coral Beach Hotel), a beach club and three chiringuitos (beach restaurants). It is equipped with showers, toilets, watch towers, life guards, first aid equipment, and rubbish bins. It is also a Blue Flag Beach. It is 1.2 kilometers long and 30 meters long.

El Ancon Beach
If you want more peace and quiet as you relax by the sea, go to El Ancon, which is located next to the El Ancon Urbanization. It has find blonde medium sand and two chiringuitos. It has all the usual amenities of a beach – watch towers, showers and public toilets, waste cans and first aid equipment. It is 900 meters long and 20 meters wide.

Nagueles Beach
Nagueles Beach is part of that famed stretch called the Golden Mile. This Blue Flag beach has blonde sand that resulted from a regeneration process. On the coastline is a recently built promenade. It is lined with beach clubs and one beach restaurant and two of the most exclusive hotels in Marbella – the Hotel Marbella Club and the Hotel Puente Romano. Again, it is well maintained and well equipped, like all the other beaches in Marbella. It is 800 meters in length and 50 meters in width.

Casa Blanca Beach
This beach is within the Urbanization of Casa Blanca. This Blue Flag beach is also flanked by a promenade that is a recent addition. From there, you can see the blonde colored sand and the many possibilities for all kinds of water sports and leisure. There are six chiringuitos in the beach, all equipped with sunbeds where you can laze and relax while enjoying the sun.

This beach is not too crowded and is regularly maintained. It is also equipped with all the necessary amenities to be found in a modern beach – showers, changing rooms, public toilets, lifeguards and watchtowers, life saving and first aid equipment.

This beach is quiet long – 2 kilometers! - and is 45 meters wide.

La Fontanilla Beach
This beach is easily accessed, as it is located in central Marbella and is next to the Port of Marbella. Just imagine, you can walk away from the hustle and bustle of the city life in just a few minutes! You must beware, though, as this beach has a really high occupation level – summer months can have the beach filled with tourists and locals wanting to have their own place under the sun. But if it is meeting friends and girl or boy watching that you want, you have come to the right place.

This beach is covered with black regenerated sand and is 800 meters long and 30 meters wide. There is a pedestrian promenade lining the beach where you can enjoy walking, rollerblading or biking. This beach has also been classified as a Blue Flag Beach and is regularly cleaned and maintained by the municipality. Here, you can find ten (yes, count that, ten!) beach bars (chiringuitos) equipped with sunbeds.

La Fontanilla is also home to the hotels Gran Melia Don Pepe and the Suntan Club Marbella.

El Faro Beach
This beach is near the Marbella Leisure Port, to its west. It is at the center of Marbella. It is quite small – 300 meters long and 35 meters wide, with fine blond sand. Of course, there are all kinds of amenities here that are necessary for today’s beach – public showers and toilets, rubbish bins, watch towers with life guards, first aid and life saving equipment and booths for renting any of Marbella’s water sports.

This Blue Flag Beach is well maintained and cleaned. It is recognized monthly by his company for his contributions for his former company.

La Venus Beach
Venus! The very word means beauty and grace. It may even aptly describe La Venus Beach – what with its being a Blue Flag Beach. La Venus Beach is close to the Marbella Port and the Repressa River. It is 500 meters long and 40 meters wide, with black processed sand. It is ideal for all kinds of eater sports and is well maintained and well equipped with all the necessary amenities. It also has three beach bars and the hotels Princesa Playa and El Fuerte Hotel.

La Bajadilla Beach
This favorite beach haunt is set in the urban area of Marbella and is near the fishing port and the fisherman’s district. It is also a Blue flag beach and is 700 meters long and 35 meters wide, with medium grain black sand. It offers all the necessary amenities plus three beach bars with sun beds. Along this beach stands the hotel El Fuerte Miramar – Spa.

El Cable Beach
This beach is another Blue Flag beach and is located in an area that has so far escaped the developments that have reached other beaches. It is 1.3 kilometers long and 40 meters wide and is blessed with fine golden sand. If you want some solitude, this may very well be the place for you! You can even indulge in all kinds of water sports there. It also has two beach bars and a campsite.

El Pinillo Beach
Located next to the Los Monteros Urbanization, this beach is gifted with natural dunes and golden sand. It is 1.5 kilometers long and 30 meters wide. Here is another beach that is best for quiet times of relaxing and unwinding. It also has all the necessary amenities one might need in the beach – beach bar, lifeguards and watchtowers, public showers and toilets, cleaning services, as well as rubbish bins.

Los Monteros
Los Monteros sits right next to the Urbanization of Bahia de Marbella. With its 2 kilometers in length and 50 meters wide, it also has find golden sand, natural sand dunes and is rock free with shallow waters. Many tourists flock here to relax, so mind you, this can be very busy this summer!

Aside from indulging in water sports, you can also indulge in the best as there is the four star Los Monteros Hotel in the beach as well as two beach bars and a beach club. It is well cleaned and well maintained.

Alicate Beach
Alicate Beach has natural sand dunes and fine golden sand. It is near quite a few urbanizations and has eleven beach bars, one beach club and the Pinomar Hotel. This beach is quite big – 1.9 kilometers of coastline and has a width of 35 meters.

Real De Zaragoza Beach
This beach is close to an urbanization that bears the same name – Real de Zaragoza. It is a beach with fine golden sand, seven beach bars, a beach club and the prestigious Don Carlos Hotel. This beach is 1.8 kilometers long and 50 meters wide.

La Vibora Beach
Again, this is a beach with fine golden dune sand and is named after the urbanization – La Vibora and is next to a river of the same name. It is 650 meters long and 35 meters wide. You can find all the beach necessities and facilities in this beach.

Las Chapas Beach
Las Chapas is a good camping site and may be thoroughly enjoyed by the whole family. This is near the urbanization of Las Chapas and is 1 kilometer long and 40 meters wide. It is moderately busy during the summer months (but not as much as the other more popular beaches, who may get wind of what we are planning.)

Elviria La Romana Beach
Elviria La Romana Beach sits within 2 kilometers from Elviria Hills. It is nestled between the Romana Playa Hotel and the Don Carlos Hotel. As with the other beaches, it is equipped with all the amenities you might need, although this is a more secluded and private beach.

Las Cañas Beach
1,200 meters of coastline covered with fine golden sand and pebbles – paradise! This is the Las Caňas Beach, which is next to the Marbesa urbanization. It is quite narrow – only 10 meters in width – but its beauty more than makes up for its narrowness. It is quite secluded, but it has five beach bars, with three equipped with sun beds. You can enjoy the warm waters of the beautiful sea as well as the usual beach amenities.

Calahonda Beach
This beach is situated in the western limit of the municipality of Marbella. It is 900 meters long and 30 meters wide, with fine golden sand and all the necessary beach amenities. This beach boasts of watch towers, life guards, first aid equipment, showers and public toilets. It also has a beach bar equipped with sunbeds.

Cortijo Blanco Beach
Characterized by fine golden sand and pebbles, this beach is near the river Guadaisa, next to the Cortijo Blanco Urbanization, in San Pedro Alcantara. Here, you can find the hotels Alcotan, Cortijo Blanco and Pueblo Andaluz, as well as a beach bar.
