Although Marbella may not be the center of the arts; it still has a lot to offer. museumThe range is equally diverse and diverting – ranging from the Museo del Grabado Español Contemporáneo and the unique Museo del Bonsai. Art lovers may also check out the art scene by visiting the numerous art galleries, chief of which are the Galeria Municipal de Exposiciones and the Casa Grande gallery.

At the Avenida del Mar, you will get a wonderful artistic treat – here you can take relaxing walks while appreciating the complete sculpture works of the renowned Salvador Dali. What’s more, it’s free!

Museo del Grabado Español Contemporáneo (Museum of Spanish Contemporary Engravings)

This museum is considered to be one of the world’s best collections and the first of its kind in Spain – engravings and graphic works showcase the best of contemporary Spanish art. Most of all, there are works by Dali, Miro, Picasso and Tapies. These include etchings, lithographs, xylographies and other artistic forms of expression.

The museum is situated in the old Bazan Hospital. The 16th century building has two floors and has a tower and typically Spanish roof tiles and whitewashed walls. The building is almost as beautiful as the art it holds.

Visit the museum – you are in for one artistic ride!

Museo del Bonsai (Bonsai Museum)

The museum is housed in the magnificent Parque Arroyo de la Represa. This is an unusual museum as it features bonsais – miniature trees whose growing technique is mainly Japanese. These naturally “dwarfed” trees require meticulous grooming.

The museum houses one of the largest collections of bonsais in Europe – including some of the best olive trees in the world. The museum's many bonsai trees, rock plantings and landscaped areas project an authentic oriental feel. This is one great way to just relax and enjoy the wonders of Mother Nature – seeing these small works of arts along with lily ponds, quiet streams shaded by weeping willows and flowers all around.
